Celebrating Our Community: Reflecting on 2025 in Mount Gambier
In February, estara staff, clients, members, friends and families came together in Mount Gambier to celebrate the year that was, and to kick off 2026. It was a special opportunity to pause, reflect and recognise the collective effort that made 2025 such a meaningful year for our community.
Across the room, there were plenty of familiar faces, new connections being made, and lots of laughter shared. For many, it was a chance to catch up with people they don’t often get to see face-to-face, particularly those from the regional areas. These moments of connection remind us that estara is a community built on relationships, shared experiences and mutual support.
2025 was a big year for the South East. The ongoing commitment of our support staff, volunteers and partners are a reflection of the passion and care that people bring to their roles every day. Most importantly, we acknowledge the strength and leadership of people living with spinal cord injury and disability, who continue to shape the way estara delivers support and services.
We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported estara in 2025. Your contributions, big and small, are what make estara’s impact possible.
Krystine Howard, estara’s Director of In-home and Community Support (South East) added a special touch to the day with each guest receiving a handmade knitted heart made by Krys herself.
“The heart is a symbol of how estara does everything from the heart, and the heart on their place setting was to remind them of this and a keepsake for the day”
As we look ahead to 2026, there is a real sense of momentum and excitement about what’s to come. We’re looking forward to another big year of working together to create positive change.
