A formal quote from a supplier (valid for 45+ days) will be required with your application, and applications be up to the value of $6,000.

Applications open at 9am on 8th September 2026 and close at 3pm, 30th October, with recipients notified 20th November and publicly announced 29th November.

Successful scholarship recipients will be notified 20th November and publicly announced 29th November.

Applications are reviewed by a Scholarship Committee made up of people with relevant experience and knowledge, including:

• People with lived experience of spinal cord injury, neurological or related conditions

• An Estara representative

• Representatives from select sporting codes and/or the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing (ORSR)

• The Chairperson of the Local Government Access and Inclusion Network

This mix helps make sure every application is assessed fairly, with a genuine understanding of both the access barriers you might be facing and the sporting pathway you're applying for.

If you're successful, your scholarship funds are paid directly to your supplier by Estara, for the specific equipment, program or activity outlined in your application. Funding can't be used retrospectively, so it needs to go towards something you haven't already paid for.

As a scholarship recipient, we'll also ask you to:

• Take part in promotional activities, with your consent. This might include sharing your story, joining a photo shoot, or attending a community engagement event

• Provide a short testimonial on how the funds helped you

• Be available for the public announcement event and other promotional opportunities where appropriate, including attending a ceremony to formally receive your scholarship

We'll make sure any of these activities are accessible and set up in a way that works for you.

All recipients are formally announced and recognised at Estara's End of Year Events, where your goals and achievements will be celebrated, and you'll be acknowledged on Estara's platforms too (social media and website).

To apply, you'll download the Scholarship Application Template, fill it out, and upload it to the online form along with your supporting documents, then press Submit Application. You can upload up to 5 documents in total.

The template will ask you to provide:

1. What sport or activity you're applying for, and what you hope to achieve

2. How the scholarship will help you access or take part in the sport. This can include a coach's letter or allied health professional recommendation

3. Any additional information about yourself you'd like to share

4. Your supplier quote (valid for 45+ days, up to $6,000)

5. Details on funding, including:

   • NDIS status - are you a participant? Is this item/activity funded, excluded, or was funding already requested and declined? If you haven't looked into NDIS, tell us why

   • Return to Work / Workers Compensation - if your disability is from a workplace injury, is there an open claim, and has sport-related funding been requested through it?

   • Other funding - anything else you've applied for or received (TAC/CTP, private health insurance, other sports grants), and the outcome.

Make sure your completed template and supporting documents (like your quote and any letters) are ready before you upload. You can include up to 5 files, so it's worth combining smaller documents where you can if you're close to the limit.
