Announcing estara’s new Chief Executive Officer

We’re excited to share an important milestone: the appointment of our new Chief Executive Officer, Nicole Sykes, who will be joining the organisation on the Monday 22 September.

Following a thorough and highly competitive recruitment process, we’re so pleased to welcome Nicole to estara. She brings over a decade of executive leadership experience across the health, disability, and government sectors. Most recently, CEO of Australian Medical Association SA since 2023, and prior to that, as CEO of SA Heart for six years. Her background also includes hands-on clinical experience as a sonographer, as well as governance roles that reflect her deep understanding of person-centred care.

Here’s what she shared as she prepares to step into the role:

I’m genuinely honoured and excited to be joining estara as Chief Executive. estara’s clear, values-driven mission deeply resonates with my own commitment to integrity, inclusion, and the delivery of high-quality care. I’ve had the privilege of working across the full spectrum of care, from frontline clinical service delivery as a sonographer through to executive leadership and governance roles. I’m passionate about building strong, collaborative team environments where people feel supported, empowered, and connected by a shared purpose and I look forward to meeting you all and the broader community, and to working together as we build on estara’s strong foundations of delivering quality care and support.
