What a great afternoon of wheelchair sports at our very first Come and Try event.
There was plenty of fun, action and friendly competition on the court at The Lights Community and Sports Centre, with attendees getting the chance to try their hand at wheelchair basketball, archery and boccia.
It was great to see everyone getting involved, giving something new a go and enjoying some friendly competition along the way. Whether trying a sport for the first time or getting back into something they already enjoyed, there was something for everyone to try.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along and gave it a go, including our attendees, support workers, friends and family. Thanks also to members of the Estara team who came along to support attendees and help make the day a success.
We were lucky to have some fantastic sporting experts join us, including Lucinda Bueti from Basketball SA, Graham Winston from Archery SA, and Para Athlete, Richard Davies. A big thank you to each of you for sharing your knowledge, introducing everyone to your sports and helping make the afternoon so enjoyable.
And of course, thank you to The Lights Community and Sports Centre for hosting us.
This was our first Come and Try event as part of Estara's Wheelchair Community Sports SA program, which is all about creating more opportunities for people to discover wheelchair sports, get active, build confidence and connect with others in the community.
And this is just the beginning. We're looking forward to bringing more opportunities to try different sports and get involved in the months ahead.
