A day in the life of an Operations Supervisor

This month, we shine a spotlight on estara staff member Patricia Bell, Operations Supervisor Adelaide - Rostering.

Patricia plays a key role in keeping our rostering for Adelaide running smoothly. We asked Patricia a few questions to get to know her a bit better!


Describe your job in 25 words.

Coordinating and supporting staff, solving roster issues, managing leave. Handling complaints, juggling reports, meetings, emails and unexpected problems, Caring for Clients and containing chaos.

If your role had a slogan, what would it be?

Adaption in Action - Like a Chameleon changing its colour to survive its surroundings, the Operations Supervisor adapts her role to meet whatever the day throws at her.

What are the top 3 things you must get done each day?

  1. Solve staffing and rostering issues

  2. Support my team and stakeholders

  3. Review and action of reports and emails

What’s something your team does really well together?

We collaborate extremely well under pressure, supporting one another with both practical and emotional support.

What’s one thing on your desk you couldn’t live without?

My fan and hand cream.

What’s the best part of working at estara?

All my amazing Colleagues and being able to assist our wonderful Clients. Also as estara is dog friendly (on Fridays), visits from Colleagues dogs’, Ellie and Pippa.
